Blakely and Adele

Hey guys and gals!

I had such great lighting this morning... and wouldn't you know as soon as i started doing my nails it starts pouring! Ugh! i love the rain but it makes it so hard to get a good picture! I did the best I could all things considered.

Okay so first off I have always bit my nails down to the quick for as long as i can remember. The few times that i actually got them to grow out they broke About two months ago a friend recommended biotin. I don't know the science behind it but I do know that the first month I took biotin i didn't see a difference. I told my friend about this and she said you have to take it with zinc. Sooooo I have done that the last month and I have to say it has done wonders. My hair and my nails are stronger, shinier and   my nails are actually growing fast. For the first time I think in my life i actually had to trim my nails for being too long.

I also started using cuticle oil daily.... here

And I started using a base coat before polishing. This is the top/ base coat combo I got from Born pretty store ...here

Honestly this was super cheap and i didn't have very high expectations. But I will give anything a try at least once. This is hands down THE BEST top/ bottom coat i have ever used! Before this i used opi and honestly i like this combo better . When it runs out i will be repurchasing. The company is super nice and although it did take some time to get here it was beautifully packaged and well protected. I also got some super cute star glitters for the fourth of july and loved them as well.

As promised I used Blakely and Adele today. One coat of each using the born pretty store top and bottom coat. This color is so pretty! it reminds me of a dragon scale!

Heres a super close up of both on my ring finger and just Blakely on my middle finger. ( excuse the messy job :p) Theres a tiny subtle difference.

Thanks for reading! Let me know if you have any questions
Hugs!

July Julep 2013 Modern Beauty Box

OMG! wow i am SO excited right now! I just went to the mail and there she was! This months "maven" box. I typically go with the Boho Glam style but this month I HAD to try both beauty products and i already have the light purple color.

So this month was themed "The California Coast" It was all about beachy/ surf colors and attitude. This box comes with two full sized beauty products. A beach tonic spray for your body and a sea salt spray for your hair.

I added on three polishes

From left to Right:
Blakey: a lava like aqua/ purple shimmer color.
Tracy: a sand finish blue
Adele: a holographic gold topcoat

I will swatch these lovelies for you in the next post!

The first thing i had to test out was the Dry body oil. wow wow and wow! I will definitely be purchasing this in the future! Its a spray that is very similar to baby oil but soaks in much faster and the smell is heavenly. I literally can not stop smelling my hand right now. I know thats totally weird, but i am very sensitive to smells and 9/10 beauty products are too strong for me. This one is amazing.  Its hard to describe scent but its light slightly floral and citrus like. Similar to an orange blossom. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! It isn't greasy or oily feeling at all. You could use this after the shower and get dressed right away. This is super important for me! I barely have time for a quick shower and rarely ever have time to let heavy moisturizer soak in. . This is a product i would be willing to splurge on once and a while. Its 3.5 ounces so should last me about 2-3 months.

Im very tempted to try the sea salt spray in my hair right now but I just got out of the shower and did an  argan oil treatment..... :( So I'm hesitant to try it right now. But thats okay i will do a future post about it.  I'm still very excited because I love texturizing sprays. I have very thick wavy hair so i need something to keep it under control or I have a frizzy fluff on my head.

Julep always includes a little extra surprise and this month it is the Green Tea Facial blotting papers. I personally have never used blotting papers before. But i can think of times in the past that having that would have been of use. So I look forward to using these and I will let you know how that works out. I do like that they are made of wood pulp and green tea. I also like the packaging.

Let me know if you have any questions about any of this!
Hugs!

** I paid for this with my own money. The opinions here are mine I will ALWAYS disclose if I got something free **

The Julep one

Hi!
My name is Kristy and I'm ADDICTED to Julep......

It all started about 6 months ago. I saw a bottle of Julep nail polish in Sephora. I'm a total bargain shopper so spending 15 dollars on a bottle of nail polish is out of my budget and just seems a little silly.

So after coming home I looked online and learned all about the company.

I came across a code that gave me the first box for free all i needed was 3.99 for shipping. The reviews were very black and white. 50% of people LOVE this company and 50% HATE them. So for 3.99 I took the gamble!

I got two polishes and a roll on cuticle oil. I use the oil daily and LOVE it! I also loved the colors I got. I didn't plan on blogging at the time so i did not take pictures. However, the lovely Leslie over at A Tech Girls Favorite things and musings did an awesome write up with pics of the same exact box hErE

That was in March and I have taken every month since!

I honestly could write 10 pages of my adoration for this company, but I will just list 10 reasons:

1.) They provide tutorial videos on youtube of new products : The company's founder talking about DD creme

2.) You can customize your box to exactly what you want. You can also get great add on box deals.

3.) Customer service is fast and very friendly.

****Pulls out soapbox****

This is huge for me! I don't care how special your product is, if your company does not have good customer support I will not buy from you.

****Puts soap box away ****

ahem anyways.....

I have had one damaged item that was replaced within two business days. And one item that arrived without product inside the tube, it was also replaced quickly. Julep apologized in both cases and sent a follow up email to be sure i was satisfied with the replacements

4.) you can cancel or pause your sub as needed.

5.) packaging so cute and feminine! Its like getting a birthday present every month !!

6.) free shipping and 20% off purchases on the site.

7.) You fill out a profile and theres a cutesy little quiz to determine your "style" but you can switch it up as much as you'd like.

8.) Polish lasts even though I wash my hands 30 times a day

9.) The polish is 4 free. that means there is no formaldehyde,
formaldehyde resin, toluene, dibutyl pathalate.

10.) They are now offering beauty products!

I just got July's box shipping confirmation and I expect to get it the 1st or 2nd of July. When it comes I will take pictures and do a review of it. I'm super excited for this box!

20 Dollars a month and you get "Jules" for accepting monthly boxes, referring people, and making purchases.

Here's my referral link :D

also make sure to use code FREEBOX to get your first box free ( just pay 3.99 shipping)

Welcome Post!

Hey Gals!

Welcome to my blog! Everyones blogging about something these days, and to be honest i frequently look to blogs for honest opinions and reviews about products. TV commercials are 99% crap, and i suppose its time for me to jump on the bandwagon and start offering my opinions as well :D

Who am I?
I am a 30 year old Stay at home mom and full time student. Right out of high school I worked at Subway and managed a store in Florida for two years while I got my CDA (child development degree) After that I worked in preschool for 10 years. I LOVED it! When my boy turned 2 it really hit me how much i was missing while working full time. My husband and i worked out some finances and i was able to stay at home with him. He's 5 and starts kindergarten this year. I also have a beautiful baby girl who will be 2 in december. Ive been blessed to spend my days at home with them and take classes online towards my bachelor's degree.

I have a ton of things i want to write about and i have been thinking about starting a blog for some time now. So i will wrap this up here now and tomorrow I shall write about Julep!

Hugs!
